Resident Care Director

Lanicia Gunter, our Resident Care Director, has been with Sterling for nearly two years.  After graduating from Wichita Area Technical College, Wichita, KS, and earning her Certified Nursing Aide (CNA), she worked for eight years in healthcare.  Having a son born with a disability inspired Lanicia to continue her education at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree eight years ago.  She began her LPN career working with medically fragile children, then went on to being a school nurse, and then continued her career working with traumatic brain and spinal cord injured children and adults.  Lanicia’s career path transitioned into senior care where she has worked for the last three years. While her passion will always be with special needs pediatrics, she has found a love working with our seniors.  Her three teenage children and dog keep Lanicia busy when she is not working.
